Singularity have won the 2017 edition of Copenhagen Games, with Team Secret winning the female CS:GO tournament.

Singularity won convincingly in the CS:GO best of 3 final, with a 2-0 victory over the Swedish mixed team ‘Dreamchasers’, who contain a number of big name players such as ‘pronax’, ‘pyth’ and ‘twist’. Singularity won 16-13 on Mirage, following that up with a 16-12 win on Nuke – certainly convincing wins considering the pedigree of a number of the Dreamchasers players.

The Danish squad qualified through the BYOC qualifier, and went on to upset ‘BIG’ in a swift 2-0 victory in the semi-finals, following that win up with their Grand Final upset. It’s a great story of a team who came from relatively nowhere, and possessed the correct chemistry and skill to emerge as champions. Allan ‘AnJ’ Jensen put in a huge shift for his team, with a 55-36 scoreline in the Bo3 series, and it is yet to be said what the next steps for the team and players will be. Will we see more of Singularity in the future?

The female CS:GO event was won by Team Secret – winning 2-0 over London Conspiracy

Team Secret were known as the ‘team to beat’ going into the 28 team competition, with the event boasting a total prize pool of $15,000. The Russian team London Conspiracy managed to upset Team Diginitas to reach the final. They subsequently went on to lose the first map (Nuke) in crushing fashion, 16-1 to Team Secret. The second map was a more competitive affair, with Inferno ending 16-14 in Team Secret’s favour, ending the series 2-0.

By winning this event, Team Secret have continued their domination of the female CS:GO scene, however it was encouraging to see one or two close maps throughout the tournament, proving that a number of the other female teams are getting closer to potentially ending that domination.
