With less than ten days to go until the first teams battle it out in Vegas, DreamHack have announced the groups for their $450,000 tournament in the Nevada Desert.
The tournament will take place in the MGM Grand Casino Floor for the first three days of matches, then moving to the MGM’s Garden Arena for the final two days of the event. The event will run between the 15th of February, through to the 19th. DreamHack Masters Las Vegas will be using the up to date active map pool, and it will be interesting to see which teams pick Inferno, and what the match-ups will be like.
The groups have been selected, with the top two teams from each group advancing through to the quarter finals. The groups are as follows:
- SK Gaming
- Natus Vincere
For most of the groups there appears to be two front runners for qualification. However some upsets can certainly be expected, with Gambit coming into this tournament with their strong major form. Additionally NiP are looking shaky at the moment, and Cloud9 could look to capitalise on this and make it through to the quarter finals in front of their home crowd.

The event is stacked with big names, and it will be particularly interesting to see whether Astralis will continue their impressive major form, you’d expect to see at least a top four placement from them.
