Dreamhack have announced they’ll be hosting a $250,000 CS:GO tournament in Malmö, Sweden. The Group Stage of the event will be played between the 12th and 14th in a ‘studio environment’ where it seems spectators won’t be permitted. 16 teams will compete during the Group Stages, with 8 teams progressing through to the Malmö Arena to compete for the Dreamhack Masters title on the 16th and 17th of April 2016.

8 of the teams will be automatically invited to the event, with the other 8 qualifying through Open Online Qualifiers, Dreamhack are yet to announce who the invited teams are.

The Malmö Arena is similar size to the Lanxess Arena where ESL One Cologne was held, and Dreamhack have stated that the rivalry between the Danish and Swedish fans will reach its eSports peak at this event. The arena, although being just 12 minutes train journey from Copenhagen, is located in Sweden and is easily accessed via Copenhagen Airport. Tickets are going on sale on January 14th through Dreamhacks website, and the base tickets are priced at SEK 255, which converts to roughly £20.50.
