Kioshima has confirmed his move to FaZe’s CS:GO team, after leaving Team EnVyUs just a few weeks before the Columbus 2016 major. The news was confirmed on FaZe Clan’s Facebook page, stating that “Kio is a proven champion, one of the most decorated and experienced players on today’s Counter Strike scene, and together with him we will fight for the winning culture that we strive to provide”.

Kioshima will take over from Maikelele, who left FaZe a few weeks ago, but it has been stated that he will continue to work closely with the team. What exactly that details “will be a matter we’ll all sit down to discuss in the near future.”

With FaZe being knocked out of the recent MLG Columbus major in the group stages, their performance has been significantly weaker than anticipated. This move however, could mean the team are making a step in the right direction, especially looking at Kioshima’s past successful record. With Dreamhack Malmo occurring later this week, this is the perfect time to see whether the roster change has been successful, with the prize pool being $250,000.
